Welcome back to another edition of the Ramadan Series!!!!

Today was all about doing nothing and there is no shame in that! Granted, when I say nothing, I’m not speaking literally. I say nothing in the sense that I haven’t been the most purposeful in how I spent my time in relation to productivity and efficiency. Nevertheless, the nothingness that I speak of has been a day of self-care. I did some skincare, deep conditioned my hair & greased my scalp, did my laundry, cleaned my room, office, kitchen & bathroom, and caught up on my Qur’an reading. So while I technically did quite a bit, it was nothing in the sense that it wasn’t fully necessary, and I did everything simply just cause and to was a great way to decompress.
Quarantine sucks and you’ll find me saying that quite a few times a day, but it sucks because while I enjoy being a homebody, I don’t enjoy homebodying because the government told me that I had to. I really don’t like being told what to do. However, that has nothing to do with anything, I just felt like saying it. Quarantine has been a blessing in disguise because for many it seems like this was this was the time that we’ve been searching for to just sit back, decompress, and reconfigure our lives to continue moving forward. I can’t say that I’ve made the most of being Quarantined for the past 1.5 months, but I’ve definitely kicked it up in the past 2.5 weeks so kudos to me.

But seriously, if there’s one thing that I’ve learned due to Quarantine 2020 and Ramadan being lumped together, it’s that it’s more than okay to stop, sit down, and breathe. Too many times we let life get hectic enough that we begin to just start going through the motions of our developed routines. Snap out of that and stop it! Take a break and time the necessary time to work on and develop you. You’re more than a routine, and if you find yourself drowning in one, then it’s ultimately not meant for you. Learn to start choosing you, however, that may look for you.
You’re the star player of your own team. Don’t forget that. Treat yourself as such.
As always,
Keep living, loving, and laughing.
